I would not hesitate in recommending Mr Dunnington as a professional piano/music theory teacher. He has been our sons’ piano teacher for the past 6 years. They have moved schools twice in that time and despite opportunities to receive lessons at school we have declined as we strongly feel that the rapport they have developed, together with his teaching style is invaluable. We travel 47 miles to bring our sons from school to their piano lessons! They have steadily progressed up the ABRSM grades in both piano and music theory gaining constantly high marks. We always sit in the lessons had have first hand experience of the manner he directs, instructs, inspires, and motivates our sons demonstrating compassion, patience, flexibility, and humour. He imparts the qualities of music appreciation, the joy of learning, and the drive and desire to progress and perfect. We have observed his teaching style adapt as our sons grow up and improve their musical ability and knowledge. He makes use of digital recording, providing us with a record of the first pieces they learnt at the age of six up to present by producing a CD every Christmas. Inspired, my husband has also been receiving lessons for the last two years. Mr Dunnington is an extremely talented musician, pianist and violinist with very effective and adaptive teaching methods. Most importantly he makes learning music a fun experience, choosing styles and pieces that we enjoy and adapting them to suit our abilities. We have seen his enthusiasm working with talented players and beginners alike, and his encouragement has helped us develop our skills and enrich our love of music. it is worth noting that part of my life is spent in Canada so a number of our lessons are by Skype and this has been no deterrent to the quality of his teaching.
